SSPF Chairman Joins India’s Olympic Task Force
New Delhi: Govt. of India has announced the Olympic Task Force panel that will work together in bringing forth a comprehensive action plan for the preparation of Indian sportsperson in next three Olympic Games 2020, 2024, and 2028. This Task Force will develop an overall strategy for the sports facility, training, selection procedure and other integral matters.
School Sports Promotion Foundation chairman Mr. Om Pathak has been appointed in the elite panel of the Olympic task force. SSPF digital and transparent system searched and nurtured talent of over 24000 students from 1200 schools. SSPF has also been recognized as a National Sports Promotion Organisation.
This committee also comprises of sportspersons like badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra among others to prepare an action plan for the next three Olympic Games.
Besides Gopichand and Bindra, other members of the team include India hockey captain Viren Raquinha, hockey coach S. Baldev Singh, senior journalist Rajesh Kalra, Professor G.L. Khanna from Manav Rachna International University and Sports Authority of Gujarat Director General Sandeep Pradhan, according to a statement from the ministry.
