Haryana Bags The Schools India Cup Volleyball Championship Tittle- 2017

Haryana beats Uttar Pradesh in the finals of the inaugural Schools India Cup- Volleyball Championship organized by School Sports Promotion Foundation. Haryana outwitted Uttar Pradesh by 3-2 to win National Championship held at Atma Malik Education and Sports Complex, Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra. To grace the occasion of this final match, Indian Olympic Association Joint Secretary Shri Namdev Shirgaonkar was present at the venue.

Both the teams were very sharp in making points but Haryana was dominant from the very first set as the score was 25- 5. The second set was a tough battle as this time Uttar Pradesh won the set by 25- 21. The third set again went to Haryana 25- 17 and fourth set was won by Uttar Pradesh by 25- 19. However, Haryana showed its power in the final set and won the first SSPF Volleyball Championship by 3- 2.

In this National Championship, there were total 20 matches played in which both teams played 6 matches each. Haryana remained unbeaten by winning the finals whereas Uttar Pradesh won 5 out of its 6 matches.

NTSN facilitates youngsters’ journey from grass-roots to global leadership: Om Pathak

New Delhi, November 18: Buoyed by the response to the of National Talent – Search and Nurture [NTSN] competitions for school children between the ages of 10 and 15 in its first season, School Sports Promotion Foundation [SSPF] and Sports Authority of India [SAI] today launched the second season in five sport.
Conceived by SSPF in association with SAI, NTSN is already one of the biggest national sports movements aimed at spotting and nurturing talent from a very young age. “The NTSN movement is aimed to provide support to young athletes on their journey from grass-roots to global leadership,” said SSPF Chairman Mr Om Pathak today.
